anyone else plan on making this baby their last?
this is our 4th, and consequently will be my 4th c-section as well. i'm not really sure i want to go thru another c-section after this one. i had always planned on being done having kids by the time i was 30 and i'm hitting that mark next month.
but i keep flip flopping back and forth. at times i feel like i'm done, and at others i keep feeling like i would like to wait 3yrs and re-evaluate then. financially we can take care of what we have now, but there's potential for dh to increase his salary over the next few years. that starts to make me feel like i could eek out one more kid i guess lol
any plans for the rest of you?
Re: tying the tubes?
Lost Lilah (Audra's twin) at 26 weeks. Cause unknown. Forever in our hearts
If you aren't sure, you might consider an IUD like Mirena. It is 99.9% effective against unplanned pregnancy for up to 5 years, but can be removed at any time if you decide you do want another one. I know people have had different experiences with Mirena, but mine was 100% positive. Super easy, no side effects, and I got pregnant 4 months after having it removed.
If you want a more permanent solution, I would also suggest your husband getting a vasectomy instead of you getting tubal ligation. Tubal ligation is a much more invasive procedure (although if it's done at the same time as your C-section, it's not that big a deal, just a few extra minutes of surgery). It's fairly common for women to have pain with sex after tubal ligation due to scar tissue forming. Vasectomy is a really simple procedure and there is no risk of pain (after the initial healing of course!) for men.
Not me. This is our first, so we'll be open to more in the future.
If this were going to be our last child, DH said he's go for the snip. The vasectomy is also more reversible should something seriously change our minds.
