He's finally here!

Short story: Atticus Jude was born on January 18th at 1:44am. He weighed 8lbs 10ozs

Long story: I was admitted on Friday afternoon to be given cervidil overnight. I spent all night walking and in the morning the dr came to check me and I made no change. They sent me home and told me to come back Monday morning and they would induce then. I went in Monday morning and was given another med, dr said it was like cervidil and pitocin together. Contractions started pretty quickly and soon were every 2 mins. After my second dose of the medicine my contractions were to intense to handle. My IIH headache was so bad that I had to get the epidural. After that they started the pitocin and broke my water. There was meconium in the fluid.

I started to push around 12:30am. It wasn't long before we could see his little red hair showing. After about an hour of pushing we realized that his head was just not going to fit. As soon as they convinced me to let them cut he was here. He had a hard time breathing at first, but after they suctioned his lungs he was good to go. I was able to nurse him about an hour later. He has been pretty fussy, even the nurses commented on it. All that being said I couldn't be happier.

We did decide to change his name from Jude Atticus to Atticus Jude for my dad. As some of you know he died last month. He actually passed a month, almost to the very minute, that Atticus was born. The name Atticus means to be father like.
