I donated blood for the first time in my life and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I would like to think that I helped out someone sometime in the near future.
Huge hugs to you!!!! My dad is a leukemia patient and has received multiple blood transfusions to fight his cancer. He wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for generous people like you.
My Angel Baby -- BFP 12/28/10, EDD 09/07/11, D&C 02/28/11 -- I miss you everyday!
That's awesome, congratulations! Being from Ireland, I'm not allowed donate in New Zealand as they think we all have Mad Cow disease. It's really disappointing as my Mum has donated over 100litres of plasma. She only stopped as her veins got really bad and they can hardly get a needle in anymore!

YAY! I take care of cancer patients and do alot of blood transfusions for leukemia patients. You truly did impact someone's life today.
Good job!!!! You saved three lives! They split the blood into red cells, white cells and platelets!
I was involved in the Student Red Cross at Penn State University and was the President my Sr year, which put me on the board of directors of the Center County Chaper, it was absolutely the best thing I've ever done and I keep meaning to get involved again now. I was a hounder for donations, my friends hated me :-) Go back in 56 days :-)
I've been a recipient of blood twice, after the birth of each daughter. I am extremely grateful for everyone that has ever donated blood. I'm not sure if I'd still be around if I didn't get it, especially after this last time.

I have to say, I was really looking forward to a thrilling story about pulling someone out of a burning building. I am disappointed!
But in all seriousness, good for you!

I lived in England for 1994-95 and I'm not allowed to donate in the US for this same reason.

I lived in Ireland from 81-88 so I can't here either. But I thought it was only if you'd lived in the UK/Ireland for 5 or more years?
