  Mine (which is currently still leaking) was like really liquidly, I thought it was pee.  No coughing or sneezing required.  It soaked right through; after 2 pairs of underwear, I pulled out the pads.

  Not sure how to tell the difference between leaking and discharge but in our birth class they said that if your water breaks a bath is bad because you are submerged in water but a shower is fine.

  My midwife told us that if your underwear were consistently getting very wet to the point where you had to change them frequently that it was your water breaking. As well in our prenatal class they said that amniotic fluid would smell like sweet smelling baby poop...if you care to smell it...my family found this hilarious.
