Not as much change as I had hoped

 As some of you may recall two weeks ago I was 1 cm and 25% effaced and have been having contractions and crazy pressure since well today was my 36week appointment and I am still 1cm but now 50% effaced I cannot believe after all this discomfort that's it.  I know my LO will come in due time and that it is still a little early for him to show but I thought for sure with everything I was feeling and his decreased movement that things were progressing somehow.  Maybe he will actually hold out for daddy to be here.  At which time I will discuss induction with my dr even though I don't want an epidural I also don't want DH to come home on daddy leave and not get to meet his son.

    I'm sorry!  I hope things progress for you soon!  I had my 36 wk appt yesterday and there was no dilation, but 75% effacement.  So, hopefully we will have more progression for all of us next week!

    With DD I was 1cm for 3 weeks before labor began.  Things don't necessarily need to progress week to week, just when LO is ready Wink

    Talk to your dr. about being induced if you don't go before he comes home. It would be so sad if he was home for a measly 2wks and didn't get to see his son born. I don't know who you're seeing, but hopefully they'll work with you. Just be prepared to get an amnio done about 3-4 days before a scheduled induction to make sure his lungs are good to go! They will work with you, trust me. If there's any good part of our hospital, that's it- their consideration of deployed service member's pregnant wives. :)

    You're ahead of where I was at my 36-week appointment-- 50% effaced and not dilated at all.  Hope there's some progress at my appointment tomorrow.

    This is exactly why I refuse internals, knowing how far I'm dilated would drive me crazy! But given your situation with DH, I can see why you would want to know. I hope you're able to work something out.

    They might, but chances are no. They usually will only do an amnio if they schedule an early induction, like before 39wks. But it depends on your OB, some are just test happy, and he may want to make certain everything's good to go.
