my dr called me today and told me to come in tomorrow to strip my membranes! super excited! i know this procedure may/may not work but im so excited!

    Same question here, a little soon I think.  These last couple of weeks can be really important for brain and lung development.

    Let us know how it goes.  My doc is also possibly doing this procedure for me next week.  I think people are under the impression that it will immediately throw you into labor though, and from what I read it usually doesn't.  It's not l ike breaking your water or anything, it just ripens the cervix a little more.  Some people will go into labor a couple days later, but only if the baby was already ready, from what I've read.  I read that everything has to be favorable for this to cause you to go into labor.  I have been told that it is a pretty common procedure.  I'm sure the doctors know what they are doing.
