I'm sure it's already on here but I can't seem to find a question related. I didn't do yoga prior to being pregnant and I bought a DVD to start since I had heard it can help aleviate some of the normal pangs and twinges associated with pregnancy. Has anyone had a positive experience using a pre-natal yoga workout? I also don't feel too comfortable doing anything more strenuous since I've had a previous loss. I am 13wks now and staying hopeful. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Pre-natal Yoga
I was doing yoga before, so I've just continued my regular class. I also do a prenatal one off yogadownload.com and like it.
Most prenatal yoga practices aren't going to give you big gains for fitness, but they are good for stress relief and for keeping things stretched out, which can help with aches and pains. I would also talk to your doctor about other exercise; odds are your loss had nothing to do with your activity, and you may find adding some other low-impact exercise really helps how you feel. I swim, walk, ride the recumbent bike, and have continued my weight lifting, all with only positive effects.
