Elisa?

I just came across this name in a baby name book (Just when I thought I was set on girl names...I like Violet, Eva and Selena).

I like the thought of Elisa as a name because "Elle" could be a nickname.  Would that work?  What do you think?

Or would you do Alyssa with nn Aly?

Names are seriously starting to keep me up at night!

    I think Elisa is a great name, but if you name her Elisa, just call her Elisa.  I am not a fan of pre-determined nicknames.

    Thanks! My husband isn't a fan of nicknames either, lol!  I think I am because my name is Tracey and couldn't have a nickname even though I wanted one so bad :)

    I don't really think Elisa needs a nn, and like pp mentioned - I am not a fan of predetermined nicknames. Elisa is a great name! Not so much a fan of Alyssa though.

    I think Alyssa looks a little dated, but I think Elisa is pretty! I agree with PPs, I don't think it needs a nn, unless one comes naturally later on.

    I like it; it's obviously feminine, easy to spell and say as well.
