just wanted to say thanks to everyone who replied to my vent-y post about being an EBFing working mom. i'm feeling cheered up, and i've decided to give my poor bruised boobs a break today and not do any power-pumping (i usually try to power-pump for at least an hour every weekday). i ordered some bigger breastshields as you guys suggested, so hopefully that will help.
thanks so much for the pep talk!
Re: thanks for the pep talk ladies
I missed your OP, but wanted to say that it sounds like you are doing great! And I am very impressed with all of your power pumping!
My supply has tanked since going on a diet/workout plan - plus, with my girls crawling - its getting harder to pump and cant do it for as long as I sometimes need to - but my goal is a year plus! So, I am in desperate need of a few power pump sessions. :-)
I saw your post last night but didn't get to respond. I am not a full extended BFer. I just pump BM and feed it to him in a bottle..we are just starting the weaning process also.
But as far as the power pumping...i would say give yourself and nipples a break! Have you tried a hospital grade pump...that's what I use and find works best for me. It's got strong suck and I am super comfortable with it..Not sure how that would work for you and going back to work and all..but I would look into it..
And as sourpop said..my supply has also tanked since I started working out!! I could also use a good power session...I am acutally on my way upstairs to pump now while Jake is napping..
