So Brenna is sick...Ped thinks its an infection of some sort...possibly a sinus infection so we're starting antibiotics. But this is the first time I've had to deal with a truly sick baby...she just wants me to hold her and clings to me for life when I try to put her in her crib...so for those that have been through this - do you just hold your LO 24/7? As is for naps and through the night? I know she is exhausted b/c she was up off and on all last night and she falls asleep in my arms in the rocker...but she won't stay asleep if I try and lay her down...I am sure I sound like an idiot even asking this question...I am guessing the answer is you hold her as long as LO needs you to...but I also would think that sleep is so very important too and she can't be sleeping that well on top of me....

Re: F/U to Fever ?
Poor thing! Yeah, I hold them as long as they need it. When they're as little as Brenna is, they seem to wake lots when they are sick and always want to be held. As they get older, they tend to sleep a lot and want to be left. T has the flu and stayed in bed pretty much all day yesterday, but decided she needed me at 9 last night. So she curled up on my lap and radiated heat until she threw up on me!!
It sucks that Brenna isn't settled, but she'll soon get passed it. And at her age she'll rest as much as she needs. I'm thinking you'll probably need a rest after all this. Take care of you when she's all better!
Go with your instincts. If you want to and she wants your to hold her, do it. I can tell you that in a blink of an eye they are to big to hold like this or don't want you to hold them.
When T is sick she will sleep between DH and I even though her crib is at the foot of our bed.
Hope

We've followed Ellie's cues. She actually would sleep in her crib fairly well (and long) if she wasn't stuffy, but when awake just wanted one of us to hold her or sit next to her if she wanted to play a bit. At night when she's been super stuffy, I've slept with her on the couch so she was upright - and I've been amazed at how well she slept. After 4 hours, I've usually put her back in her crib so I can get some sleep and that has worked.
Good luck and poor B!!!!
Poor B. It is amazing how comfortable they find sleeping on us to be. Caroline never sleeps better than when she is on top of or pressed up against me or DH. I think it is just very comforting to be that close.
Also- cute siggy pics.
