Good sign?

I went to my 38 week check up yesterday (my first internal) and I was informed I am dialated to 1-2 and 60% effaced. Is this a good sign that I will deliver before my due date (Feb. 7th)????

 I sure hope so, my Daughter was a week late and had to be induced. With her, I was only dialated to 1/2 and 60% at 40 weeks!

    Not to burst any bubbles, but you can walk around dilated and effaced for a few weeks. That said, I would rather hear that I was dilated and effaced than nothing at all, which is what I heard at my last appointment. This way I know she is doing something and has a little less to do once I either go into labor or get induced.

    I was dialated 3 cm and 85% effaced last Thursday and I'm still pregnant.  I go again this Thursday and I'm crossing my fingers for some progress.
