I keep forgetting to share with you guys....

IRL, I am horrible about sharing information with others. I tend to FB a lot, so I forget to update those that aren't on there. My promise for February - will try more posting in addition to responding - lol. By sharing with you guys, I might not drive my SO so crazy in sharing with him - lol.

So anyways, thanks to all of the mommies on The Bump. You all have been a great support. One of the SN moms connected me with a nonprofit www.nevus.org who specialize in S's situation. I've received tons of support and information - so much that I'm in information overload now. I'm finding that the pediatric plastic surgeon we saw was wrong on a lot of things and the pediatric dermatoloigst might just be inexperienced in nevi.

I need to sit down this week and finalize my short list to submit to our pediatrician. Overall, it looks like we're going to have to leave NM and travel. At this point, we're looking at either San Franciso, Baltimore, or Phoenix. That might change - I've got a few more doctors that I need to research, but those three cities tend to keep coming up from those parents who are in the same boat as us.

The travel part does not worry me as much as making sure we pick the right doctor. But I have to remember - this is just a second opinion. We can always go for a third opinion......

Wow you've really done your research! It can be overwhelming trying to sort through all that info but I'm sure you'll make the right decision. If you have to leave town maybe you can make a mini vacation out of it! I vote for SF, then S can take her first cable car ride and see the sea lions at Pier 39! Wink

I think it is great that you found such a wonderful resource! I know how hard it can be to get conflicting information when we are just looking for the best for our little one's.
