VBAC

Acupuncture!

I am going tomorrow for my first treatment. I am excited! And a little nervous, to be honest :)

I am "allowed" to go to 42 weeks before we have a RCS, but after 40 weeks I will have my bi-weekly NSTs and so forth. I just don't even want to have to go there. I can just see there being something a tiny bit off, and they will want to section me.

My body seems to be doing some things on its own, and I even really thought I was in for real labor last night. So maybe a couple treatments will be all I need.

Here's hoping!

Re: Acupuncture!

  • Good luck! :)  I need to look into finding an acupuncturist here who will work on pg women.  If we're at 39-ish + weeks, I will be trying!!

  • You guys are so close now!  Getting excited? Nervous?
  • I hope all goes well for you!  I had 4 sessions after 40 weeks, and three of them included attaching electrode wires to 4 of the pins.  Interesting sensations... Nonetheless I am CONVINCED that is what helped me go from 4cm to complete in 2 hours!  GL!

  • Good luck! I had it done three days in a row, and went into labor the day after the third session. I was at least 41 weeks at that point.

I also refused the AFI u/s check at my non-stress test, bc I was too paranoid about getting the "low fluid" meme (it was one of the things with DS1's birth that I think contributed to my original c-section). I had to sign an AMA form for that, and it was stressful refusing it, but I'm glad I did.

I'm a little nervous, but more just ready to go into labor! I have had SO many false alarms, that it is mentally exhausting. I feel like DH thinks I am the girl who cried wolf. When I tell him I am really in labor, he will probably not believe me!

  • I start the acupuncture at 37 weeks b/c I have never gone into labor. I want to make sure I have long enough to try all the methods of natural induction.

Please post about your experience. I'm very curious about what it feels like and how you feel after. Thanks!

  • Let us know how it went.  Acupuncture is one of the things I wish I had tried last time.  I'm going to check it out this time around.
