My DH and I are of Indian origin but grew up here in the US and aren't too crazy about Indian boys' names. We're looking for a "crossover" type name- something sort of fusiony, but we've had a really hard time thinking of something we both love. After lots of debating, we've narrowed our list down to:
Ronan
or
Kieran
They're both actually Irish names, but are really close to Indian names. What do you all think? Any other ideas for us?
TIA!

NMS, but that doesn't mean I don't like them! They're both neat! I'd probably vote Kieran over Ronan.
DH and I are having the same problem. He's of Indian descent and I'm half Pakistani and half Italian. I like both those names but DH's niece is actually named Kiran, so that won't work for us! Wish us luck, we have a long way to go I think...
I like Ronan. MH actually really likes the name - it's his pick for boy names...
Ronen is actually the Hebrew spelling and it means joy in hebrew and Ronin I believe refers to a samurai in Japanese.
MH is trying to sell me on this name since i'm Israeli and he's into martial arts, so he thinks it's the perfect name.
KIERAN!!
