Drying hair.

Geneva bathes every night and we towel-dry her hair. It's getting pretty long, so it's still damp when she goes to bed. It doesn't seem to bother her, but I was wondering if any of y'all take a blow dryer to your kid's noggin.

If anything, the wet hair before bed provides copious amounts of entertainment from the morning bed head.

Re: Drying hair.

  • I have a fuzzy headed five month old boy so I am no help. But would she wear one of those super absorbent Aquis towels/turbans?  It really helps my hair in the morning to soak up some of the water.  It makes blowdrying faster too.

  • I was using a blow dryer on Cadence. I was worried because it is so cold outside, but it made her curly hair look horrible and it's not like we don't have the heat on in the house so I quit.

I know what you mean about the morning bed head..too funny and cute!

  • Yes, we blow dry DD's hair after her baths. She still wakes up with major bed head. (We call her Kate Gosselin in the morning).

  • Yep! Her hair is so long and has so much of it, it would be all knots the next morning if we didn't. But she loves it!

  • In the winter I blow dry Addison's hair before bed until it is almost completely dry.  It was starting to get brittle so a few times a week i'll use a bit of my conditioner in her hair or some of the no more tangles leave in conditioner to keep it from being so dry.
  • Yep.  DD has thick, longish, curly hair that takes forever to dry on its own.  She bathes every night, but we only wash her hair every other night. I only use the low or medium heat setting and spray it down good with detangler before I dry it to keep it from getting tangled and brittle.  She loves it.  I let her look at books while I dry it and sometimes we let her dry mommy and daddy's hair which she thinks is great.

  • Depends on how close to bed we are.  It's she's getting a bath late, i will dry it.  Otherwise, I just let it air dry.
  • We use a hair dryer on Mia.

  • Yep, we have on Marah forever.
  • I blow dry both of my kids hair nearly every single night of my life.  Tess's hair takes about 60 seconds, Emma's hair takes anywhere from 20-45 minutes.
