Childcare procrastination

So I'm starting to freak out.  I am taking 8 weeks off so I will prob be going back to work around mid to late April.  I have absolutely NO idea what we are going to do about childcare.  I need to set up times in interview nannies but I am so unmotivated!  What is my problem?  Anyone else have this issue??

Re: Childcare procrastination

  • I'm in the same boat.  I go back to work in mid April too.  I started the process just before Christmas and it was exhausting and unsatisfying.  I did not like any of the centers so I have been procrastinating ever since.  I guess since I know that I have a place I could take the baby in a crunch I am unmotivated but I still need a long term solution.  I have started my leave so I am going to make calls to more centers and some in home day cares today... or this week...soon!

  • I haven't started yet either.  I figured few people will know now what their full-time availability will be like in mid-May, when I plan to go back to work.  But maybe I should get on it...

  • I am in the same boat. Will go back to work in May and haven't even started. The thought of leaving my little guy makes me sad....that is probably why I am dragging my feet : (

  • I know it's not fun, but I would get on it. Our first choice place, I went on the waitlist at 23 weeks with DD. She didn't get in until a week before her first birthday. The place we went with in the meantime was not ideal, but it had openings.

Infant spots are notoriously hard to get.
