So this morning I wake up after DS being up every 2-3 hrs again w/ this thing sliding off his head and it's completely OFF his head in the corner of the crib! WTF!! I called them first thing (cranial tech) and she goes "Well so and so has a full schedule." And I was like how is this my problem! They are remaking the band and we should have a new one next week, I just hope this new one works and he can actually get some rest in it. I told her on Friday that the band was literally sliding off his head and she told me it was normal so I took my pictures w/ me and she said "oh, that's not going to work." Well, duh, why didn't she listen to me and you would think they would have checked that when we had the fitting b/c at the fitting I told her it seemed to be really sliding down over his eyes and she said it was supposed to be "loose" ugh!!

Re: LucyP and other helmet peeps (re: my drama!)
First off - GOOD job mama. It's sucks that they downplayed your initial concerns - but try to view it as they have a million patients and in most cases some slide around (a MINIMAL amount) might be normal - but in your case CLEARLY not and good for you to pushing the issue. I am so glad they are remaking your son's helmet, it sounds like the fit is way off - and that is not helpful and could actually be harmful - you don't want the foam exerting pressure anywhere EXCEPT directly on the bulges.
My little guy did not have great correction in his helmet - he got a couple millimeters, that's it. His diagonal was only off by 9 to start with - when he got the helmet off he was at 7. He had it on for 15 weeks and did have a lot of head growth - so he really should have seen at least a 4mm correction. I'm not sure what went wrong really. At the time I accepted it - but had a lot of regret later - wishing I had pushed for a second helmet. (Although I did take him back for another scan last summer - and one year post helmet he was at 5.9 - so that additional "on his own" improvement was welcome news and helped me deal with some of my regret.)
It's so hard to constantly have to advocate for your kid - at this point, you have the helmet, you're ready to just let it do it's thing - and now here you are having to fight with them about the fit and now get ANOTHER one. What a great mom you are though, to fight for your baby this way. He is a lucky little boy to have you on his side!

ginny was also cranial tech. your head band is definitely NOT fitting correctly. I hope they get you in the office very soon. btw, our office was also super busy all the time.
good luck!

Ugh! Glad you pushed the issue, that is bizarre & I can't believe when you told them it was literally falling off his head that they didn't take you seriously- our issues were usuallyt eh opposite, the red areas when it would start to get too snug...
GL. We were really happy with the changes in DS's head, it is by no means perfect and still kinda flat in the back but nothing like it was (we had to do 2 bands over 4 months) and his ears are symmetrical now.
Stick with it, hope the new band solves the issues!
