generic diaper recommendations

We have always used Pampers, but we are really trying to cut back on expenses, and I can't help but wonder if there is a generic diaper out there of equal quality... any recommendations for brands that you like? TIA!

Re: generic diaper recommendations

  • I? luvs. I always had leaking issues with Pampers. No matter how tight they were and if he was pointed down when every he had a wet diaper he would soak his front above the diaper. I have had very few blowouts and leaks with luvs. Not generic but fairly cheap.

  • Luvs or Targets Up & Up Diapers.

Also you could switch to Cloth. That would save you alot of money Wink I Myself and switching to cloth.

  • I love up&up from Target. Great price, and I've never had an issue with leaks or blowouts. I love that they don't have a chemical or fragrance smell to them.
  • We currently use the Target brand up and up diapers but I'm going to try luvs out. I figured I can get a box of 204 size 3 luvs for around $17 from amazon. I usually get 144 up and up size 3 diapers for 19.99

  • Target Up and Up. They work pretty well. We've had a blowout in each brand we've tried. I only buy diapers with a coupon or on sale unless they are the up and up brand. I am a bit funny though and save the nice Pampers for when she goes to a sitter or my MIL so they assume we spend the big bucks on Pampers. What a dork I am!
  • We like Target Up&Up and Costco Kirkland generic brands. If you want to continue to use Pampers, you may want to consider ordering them through Amazon. The Subscribe and Save option gets you 30% off and I use the 20% codes that are found in Parents magazine for additional savings. With those savings, I get Pampers diapers for less than the cost of the generic brands.
  • I like the Parents Choice from WalMart (I think for a box it's $13 or $14). By far the cheapest I've found w/out having to use a coupon (unless it's Luvs). My gf let me try one of her Up&Up diapers but I thought they got kinda hard when DS peed in it. I just bought Luvs for the first time in a while this week and when I changed his diaper this morning it was really squishy like a water balloon, it didn't leak but I was almost afraid to push it into the diaper genie Tongue Tied

  • I've been ordering the diapers.com brand diapers and they've been great.  We have very few blow-outs or leakage problems.  At night we use the Fisher Price overnight diapers and they seem way more absorbant than the huggies overnights.

  • Agree with PP's regarding Target brand. I tried Pampers, Luvs and Huggies, we loved Huggies but the price was getting to me. Target brand are fantastic.

  • I bought a bunch of Walgreens brand diapers when they were on sale B1G1.  I've had no problems!

  • We used Pampers Sensitives for the first 5 months.  Then they became hard to find around here, so we started to try other brands.  We LOVE Luvs.  Rarely have a blowout, never leaks, very affordable.  They are also really thin, so they fit close to her body and don't get in her way.

Yeah that's what we use most of the time.
