Can you be in love with a hospital...GBMC is beautiful and I am soooo glad I switched doctors to be here. Hard woods, hidden medical equipment behind paintings on the walls to make it more homey, and just an overall wonderful staff (who we met today) makes me very excited to deliver now. We even got to see the nursery and the babies were all super adorable. Since DH and I aren't taking any classes we feel a lot more comfortable now knowing that the nurses and specialists will be there for us for whatever we need!
Anyone deliver here use their newborn photography? How were the pics? How were the prices?
Feeling more ready now for the baby...and we were the only one in the group being surprised...everyone else was having boys..maybe that's a sign! Now once we have our shower I think I be more than ready for LO to arrive!
Re: Toured L&D at GBMC today!
I actually delivered there on the 11th. We did use the newborn photographer and I loved the pictures that the lady took! I had planned to have the pictures taken and wait to see if I liked them and then decide whether or not to purchase them. I didn't care for the ones that they took of DD when she was born.
If you want to see the pics taken of my DS just let me know and I can e-mail you the link to the photos.
To check out their prices go to: https://our365.com/gifts/newbornportrait.aspx
That would be great! Thanks...and after I post I did a bit more research and found the prices.
I used the photographer. It was a really neat experience, since they take the photos on your bed. We ended up getting the cd (grandma's treat) and the rights to the photos are yours if you get the cd. I was exhausted and moody when the lady first came, and I really wanted her to come back later.. But I'm glad I got them done.
I guess if you want a specific pose or photo, bring what you want with you to the hospital. Props/outfits will probably make for even cuter photos! Good luck!
We got the very basic package of the newborn pics there too and loved them! I had an outfit in mind, even a nightgown for DD to change into but they convinced me that having a prettier backdrop was better than changing her outfit. I had brought one of DD's Aden and Anais butterfly blankies and they used it as background on the bed and just kept DD in her hospital issued white side snap shirt and it came out great!
So glad you liked GBMC on your tour...I know you'll enjoy it even more when you stay there!
You should be receiving an e-mail shortly with the pictures. Also, replied to your pm.
I delivered there in May '10. It is a wonderful hospital!
We did do pics of my LO in the NICU and I loved them.
Hope you have just as good an experience.
