for as long as I can remember, I have secretly wished that my dad had an affair, and somewhere out there I have a long long sister. And that someday she'll find me, and we'll be close in age, and we're just a like, and live happily ever after and talk 20 times a day on the phone. (ok, we'll text now)

this bizarre dream is a MAJOR fuel in my infertility fight... for I REALLY REALLY REAAAAALLLY want to give my little Ava a sister. (I just got two brothers that fart a lot)

and as long as I'm being weepy as I watch this Oprah episode, can I just say that my bewbs will NOT stop tingling and throbbing. That's what I get when I'm pregnant. And it won't stop. And I burst into tears every fecking time. and I'm kinda worn out about this, and really wish it would stop. that is all.

It is just too much for one person to have to go through. And I know what you mean about having a sister. I am the oldest and the only girl with 3 younger brothers. Though I love my brothers to a fault, I would have loved to have a sister in life.

Ah, I'm so sorry what you are going through right now. I absolutely know what you mean. I'm an only child and have always longed for a sister. I feel so lucky that Stella and Hadley have each other. It's the greatest give I'll ever give either of them! Now they will have each to complain to about mom and dad.

Here's a little funny (ok a lot of heavy crap too, but wait for the funny) for you - My dad was a Marine. A hot Marine, life of the party and quite the ladies man. As a result, I have 6 half sibs ranging in age from almost 50 to 19 and we live all over the country! 5 of the 6 are girls and thanks to FB we have all reconnected and it is really nice. The only time most of us have all been together was my dad's funeral in 2000. One of my sisters chose not to come and she won't acknowledge any of us. Her full bio brother (my 1/2 brother) has tried to convince her many times to let the past be the past and connect with us, but she wants no parts of it. He would always tell me we were like clones of one another - same voice, same mannerisms etc...

When I was living in MD, I found out that she was living less than an hour from me and I used to fantasize about running into her at Target or the mall and hitting it off only to learn we were long lost sisters. It made me so sad that she was so close and refused to acknowledge me. I still hope she will come around...gr

Anyway, now the funny - my dad served a RIDICULOUS number of tours in Vietnam and I just know I have at least a few Vietnamese sibs out there somewhere. The family joke has always been that his little Vietnamese grandkids are gonna come a knockin some day Stick out tongue

ok, 6 degrees of separation - we've always dreamed of international adoption, and someday, perhaps, Vietnam's adoption program will open back up. (we LOVED that country we when were there in 2006) Let's pretend for a second that we get a kid from there, search the birth records, find out that the birth mother (or would be grandmother by now?) was part caucasian, a result from a handsome Marine during a tour of duty... lol....

My half brother and I have always felt that we have other siblings. I wouldn't be surprised if I got that knock someday. Once a cheater always a cheater...

Ugh, I'm sorry.

I grew up as an only child and always wanted a sister... Dh has a brother and sister and wished he was an only child because they were mean to him. lol

I actually have a 1/2 brother and 1/2 sister that are older than me that I've never met. I always hope that they'd somehow find me and we'd have some sort of magical bond.

I also have two 1/2 sisters (all from my POS "Dad") that are younger than me. They live in the area and though sometimes I wonder how they are doing, I don't really want them to find me.
