Success after IF

how much formula/bmilk does your 9-10 month old drink a day?

And how much real food to feed him/her?
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • At T's 9 mo appt, I was told that he should be getting at least 20 oz of bm/formula each day - along with solids.  At that age, I was giving up to 4 tbsp cereal, 4 tbsp fruit and 4 tbsp vegetable each day, with a little protein mixed in.

It really depends on who you ask! One ped said no more than 24 oz while i heard another say 32oz if they aren't great with solids!

  • At 10 months my kids each get about 18-24oz of formula a day plus 4-6oz of water (I leave sippies out for them with water all day while they play).

They get 3 meals a day plus usually a "snack" of some cheerios once a day.

    Breakfast - yogurt (4oz), fruit (2-3oz) and cheerios or multigrain/whole wheat waffle/pancake

Lunch -  fruit (2-3oz), veggie (2-3oz), protein/carb (usually cream cheese on whole wheat toast, cheese quesadilla, grilled cheese or cut up lunchmeat, cheese and crackers)

Dinner - whatever we eat or a repeat of lunch type foods.

I try to do a green and orange veggie each day and they've had eggs (our pedi okays them at 9 months) but aren't big fans of them.  They split the things I gave approx. measurements on.

ETA:  On the max, my daughter refused solids and at her 9 month appt the pedi said it was fine if she wasn't doing solids and was okay with the amount of formula (she was right around 30-32oz/day) but just told us to call her if she was still refusing solids completely at 10 months.  She started finally eating solids a week later and caught right up.  Her formula dropped down to the 20ish a day within a week.

  • My LO has (and had at 9 months) 3 full meals, 1 snack, and 30 oz of formula a day. Big pig :)
  • My pedi says 24oz min 32oz max

At 10 months she is drinking 28oz per day right now...at 9 months it was 32oz

She has 3 meals a day and is already done with purees.  So I can't really quantify how much she is eatting... but she will eat almost a whole pancake with some fruit in the am.

Maybe about half of what my toddler eats on average...

  • I think I remember about 20-24oz a day plus she got table food cause she hated purees.

  • 28 oz. plus 3 solid meals and one sippy of water. We do purees and small bits of table food for solids.
  • They were on the high end at 32 oz a day plus 3 meals (done with purees).

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
