My dad is throwing my mom a big 50th birthday party this Saturday night. It's a dressy affair and I don't have any nice black close-toed shoes to wear with my dress. I've decided to just go ahead and wear my strappy open-toed shoes, however, I badly need my toenails painted. I've tried reaching them and it's not happening. I asked DH if he would paint them and he said yes, I thought it was sweet but I had to laugh at the idea.
I'd love to get a pedi but it's just not in the budget these days so DH it is. Has anyone else had their DH paint their toenails? If so, how did they do? Should I have him do a practice run before this Saturday?

DH is a perfectionist so I'm sure he'll do great. My biggest worry is that he won't like it and will want to start all over again. He has a tendancy to do that with most things he's responsible for! I don't want it to take an hour to paint my toenails, but I guess I should just appreciate the fact that my "manly" husband is ok with painting them! And you're right, everyone going to the party will know I'm about 38wks pregnant and will be too focused staring at my belly than my toes, but it's just peice of mind to know that my toes look somewhat decent for a night out
My husband as clipped my toenails but I can't bring myself to ask him to paint them. He has already compromised his masculinity a few times during the last few months and I'm afraid this might put him over the edge.
I agree with the posted I quoted. He would prefer to pay for the pedi than go there. Then again, I don't even paint my own toes so I can't blame him at all!
