This weekend we visited friends who have an almost 2 month old baby boy. My SS is 7 & ever since we brought E home from the hospital, I've been completely open with BFing. I BF in the living room & have never hid it. At the beginning he asked a lot of questions, which we answered, but now he doesn't even notice.
So while at our friends house, the new mama saids he needed to feed the baby & asked if I wanted her to go upstairs to BF him. OMG, NO!!! She said she didn't know how Matthew (SS) would react or if I was OK with her BFing in front of him. I told her absolutely, we are a BFing friendly family & I BF infront of him daily.
But then I was curious how he would react to someone else BFing, as I'm the only one he's ever seen do it.  Soon enough I had my answer. He didn't react at all. He was running around their living room playing with their dog, running right past the BFing mama & never said anything or even looked at her. It was completely normal to him. I didn't say anything to him or DH about it, but I counted it as a personal victory I'm raising him to know it's a completely normal & natural thing & he did just what I hoped he would do

Re: AW: Proud of my big kid (BF related)
I love it!!
I'm so sad that DD now says babies eat from bottles because that's how I feed the kids I nanny (well, how I feed the newborn now and how I fed the 2yo when I first had him). She's been around lots of BF babies and kids (heck, she only weaned at her 3rd birthday!), but she sees these kids the most. I don't think I want any more kids, but maybe I should just so she can see it, lol.
