As of yesterday, DS is mobile! ahhh. So we're in the process of installing gates, etc.... HOWEVER, we live in a 3 story townhouse and a very open floor plan!!
The LR is our biggest concern because it is "sunken" and there are two hardwood steps that lead into it. There are no walls to attach a gate to as the two steps are larger than the wall opening (does that make sense?)
Our only hope is a partition or gate that can be bent (think like a fireplace partition with 3 panels) but I don't want it to be able to be pulled down.
Any thoughts, suggestions or recommendations PLEASE?!?! TIA!!!
Re: HELP! Gate help needed! Open floor plan
this! we also bought extensions for it.
Did you buy extensions for the gate just for that area? Or so that you could section off the room, as well as have the play yard set up?
I'd rather not have to buy ANOTHER play yard (we already have one)- but I really want to have a "safe" place to put DS in- in addition to sectioning off the stairs....
Should I have two? Or is there a way to use extensions and get away with just one?
Would something like the KidCo Configure Gate work?
We have one at the top of our stairs because we don't have banisters to attach a standard gate.
That would work!! I just wish it wasn't so expensive!! I would need an additional extension! ugh
we use it a few ways. sometimes i just put it across to block her into the living room. but when it's not a closed system, it's hard to make it sturdy. it does keep her in though. and sometimes we use it as a large play yard so she has room to crawl, but can't get into trouble. sorry, i'm not sure if i completely answered your question, but this is what we have. ours is from BRU, but this is what came up in a google search.
