Heard the IUI should be a breeze but I am nervous. The HSG was suppose to be a breeze too and it was bad.... and not so much for the procedure, but more for the outcome! EEEEK!
How was your IUI? When do you get to test? How often do you have to go back to RE?
Re: Nervous...IUI tomorrow
My IUI's didnt hurt a bit - they are easier than a pap and are quick.
I start testing usually on day 12. One cycle I refrained.
You go back to the RE usually 14 days past IUI.

its about the same level of discomfort as a Pap smear but quicker, much easy than a the HSG, which sucked

Who told you that the HSG would be a breeze?? Yikes, it must have made it worse when you were expecting it to be no big deal and it was bad. Most girls on here have mixed experiences with the HSG, so I was expecting the worst and it was bad at the end but at least I felt prepared for it.
The IUI is NOTHING like the HSG and I've never heard anyone say that they had a truly bad experience (as compared to the HSG where there are some bad stories). It really is like a pap smear, except there may be some cramping during/afterwards. I haven't heard many people talk about it being really painful. Mine was fine, a little cramping but not much. GL

My IUIs are a breeze compared to my HSG. My first IUI I felt nothing. I little cramping afterwards but that?s it. My 2nd IUI I had a little more cramping during and after but still it was no were near as bad as my HSG. I normally try to wait until 12dpo to test. My RE will do b/w at 15dpo. Good luck!!

The IUI was nothing other than the speculum, so no worse (and maybe even a little better than?) a pap. I didn't feel anything during or after the procedure.
I didn't have to go back afterwards. My RE doesn't do betas unless you have a +HPT which they tell you not to do until 17dpIUI (ha! like I'd wait 17 days to POAS!), and AF showed 12dpIUI, so I never tested. Just had baseline U/S for IUI#2 this morning, hoping for better results this time.
Best of luck to you!

Oh my word - I've heard the HSG is much worse, especially if there is a blockage.
I just had my first IUI last Monday, and at worse, it was uncomfortable. I consider myself to be a BIG baby when it comes to pain, so you should be fine! It's about the same about an annual exam/pap smear.
Since my IUI last Monday, I went today for blood work and u/s, and again next Monday for my pregnancy test.

Cautiously expecting our miracle on Feb 25, 2012
The only thing that hurt about the IUI was the speculum. It was pretty easy and fast. I stayed in the room resting longer than the actual procedure took. My 1st IUI was a BFN. I tested at 12 and 13dpIUI. Beta was done on 14dpIUI.
I have two ultrasounds prior to the actual IUI. Best of luck!!!
