I was on the bcp for 10 years. I stopped taking it in June in hopes of a baby, however I went june, july and aug with no period and sept i finally got one then 45 Days later in Oct I got another one, and 33 days later in Nov I got another one and I really thought that I was back on track after coming off the pill, but now it's been 56 days since my last period and my Dr keeps telling me that it's normal up to 12 mo to be irregular after the pill. I don't think that this is normal at all, but I don't know what else to do. She's the Dr. Has anyone else had similar issues, and what did you do. I know that you don't have to have a period to get pregnant, but it seems to be causing issues for us. It's been 7 months and nothing.

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
yes, you should ask to go in for bloodwork.
I am in the exact same position. I was on BCP for 10 years, I stopped taking them in June as well. My first cycle was 42 days, my second cycle was 56 days and my third cycle was also 56 days, I ended with Provera. I had two cycles in 5 months, and my regular OB told me not to worry, that it could take up to a year to regulate. After speaking with a friend, she referred me to an infertility specialist. I had my first appointment in November, they were the ones who prescribed the Provera. The NP was told me that I came to the right place (afterall, I couldn't even begin TTC because I wasnt ovulating). They ran some bloodwork and my initial hormone levels indicated PCOS. I am so glad I took my friend's advice and made an appointment! I am now in the beginning phases of treatment for PCOS.
You know your body better than anyone else, if you think something is wrong, I would try another doctor for a second opinion. Best of luck!
