How many wks of terrible contractions?

Just wondering what I'm in for!  I lost my mucous plug last Tuesday and have been having fairly painful contractions all week.  They are not consistent so I know it isn't true labor - can this go on for weeks?

    I've heard some people have contractions for weeks, but I hope for your sake that it doesn't last too long.

    Add is to my list of fears:

    Ring of fire - check
    Weeks of contractions - check
    Won't finish Bradley class in time - check
    My dad randomly showing up in delivery room because of my mom - check
    Terrible c-section, forceps or anything similar - check
    An unrecoverable vag - check
    Not delivering before Jan 1 when my doc stops practicing - check

    And yet I don't worry about the baby - I just feel like/know she'll be ok...

    LOL pivey!!  especially on the burning ring of fire!  When DH and I heard that in birthing class we both just started singing..."I fell in to the burning ring of fire..."  I told him if he puts that on the playlist he is in trouble!!
