OMG, it's too funny! We showed him where it was and he literally runs down the hall (once he makes it up the stairs) to his room. He has about twice the floor space as he did before and he runs around pulling toys out of his storage bins and he plays relatively quietly for longer than he ever did before. I feel so relieved that he's adjusted so well.
The only negative: no baby gates or locks yet. We're idiots and packed them up and now are chasing him away from every cabinet and door. The railings are wrought iron so all the gates we thought would attach?won't. So we're looking into conversion kits. But that's our goal for Saturday: a trip to Buy Buy Baby.
But overall he loves the house. Loves his room. Had NO issues sleeping at night (thank goodness). However, his naps are wonky but I think it's age-related and he could be moving to 1 nap per day?though he IS taking a nap now (fell asleep at 9:45 am) so it's not a given.
As for DH and I, we're adjusting. Our room is semi in order. My brother was away on a business trip when we moved in, so we had a week to acclimate to our new environment without him there (we hope his return won't be too traumatic). We can totally live with my parents?they're easy to get along with. The health stuff, that's hard (my dad's next surgery is 2/16).
Re: He LOVES his new room!
What wonderful news. It so good to hear the transition has went so smoothly.

I'm glad Aaron likes his new room. And don't worry about the nap thing, Adrian has been napping only once a day since about 14 months. I think Aaron might be ready to drop the second nap. Adrian now sleeps about 10-11 hrs a night, plus 2 hrs during the day. The goal is at least 12 hrs a day for toddlers this age, so I'm not worried.
I hope your dad's surgery goes well, sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way ((hugs)).
Awwwww! That is really sweet! I am glad he loves his new digs and you guys are settling in.
Hopefully your dad's health improves w/you guys around to help out.
Yay!
I am so glad he's settling in well! I hope your brother ends up not nearly as bad as you fear he'll be...
