Babies: 9 - 12 Months

If you have an early riser?

What time do they go to bed? and what time do they wake up?

Harrison has been getting up earlier and I'm not sure if it's because I haven't been getting him into bed until after 8:00 or what (by early, I mean 7:00). For me that is early. :-)

I'm wondering if I put him to bed at least by 7:30 if he will sleep until 7:30. Does this rule always apply?

Re: If you have an early riser?

  • When I put him to bed at 6, he's up at 5. Last night he went at 730, and he was still up at 5 this morning.  It doesn't matter what time he goes to bed, he always.wakes.up.early.  Kinda stinks.

  • My boys go down between 7-8pm and are up no later than 6:30 am. I could put them down at 9pm and they'd still be up between 6 and 6:30 am (but cranky because they didn't get enough sleep).  It's just their natural wake up time.

  • DD is in bed religiously by 630. She wakes up around 7- 7:30 but will play in her crib for a little before I go in and get her. Even if I put her to bed later, she wakes up at the same time.

  • I never really considered 7 to be super early, but DD gets up between 6:30 and 7 every day.  I used to wake her up at this time when we were sleep training her so that her nap schedule would work out, now that she is trained she does it automatically.  She goes down every night between 7 and 7:30.  On a few rare occasions she has gone to bed later, does not seem to matter, she is up at the same time regardless!
  • riley is up by 6:30 at the latest no matter what time i put her to bed. you probably just have an early riser :)

  • My DD wakes up around 7:00-8:00 AM.

I put her down normally between 6:45pm-7:30, and she wakes up at the same time regardless. I actually put her down at 5:45 last week, because she was so fussy and she slept until 8:00am. I find that putting her down early can sometimes encourage her to sleep longer.

Yep, this is DS.  His internal clock is set for 5-5:30.  Goes to sleep by 7, up at 5.  Goes to sleep at 8, up at 5. Sigh.
