So...I never have been much of a reader.

Awhile back I got into more and loved it but then life happened and it never felt like I had the time. I would like to get back into it. Can anyone recommend a good book for me?

I know alot of 3T gals about six months ago were talking about the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon...I've read all seven books and thought I might be the only one but turns out their more popular then I thought. I'm re-reading the first book since it's been 14 years since I last read it. It's historical fiction with a little romance.
Aside from that I read a lot of "quick" reads - James Patterson, old John Grisham stuff, etc.
I've heard ALOT of great things about the Girl with the Dragon Tatto but have yet to read it.

I saw on your list in 2010 you read "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" and gve it 4 out of 5 rating. I thought about suggesting that because it was seriously the funniest thing I've ever read - but didn't know if it'd go over with this crowd since he's such a @$$ to women. Glad to see other another woman saw the humor of it.

I thought it was soo funny! I dont feel one bit bad for the women in the book, if you are a complete slut then you deserve it!
In reality I think a lot of his made up or at least exaggerated, but it was a good laugh

I just read an 'infertility' book - So Close by Tertia Albertyn
I would highly recommend it - make me laugh, cry and has a happy ending. Everyone going through IF will be able to relate to part of her story - I ended up reading almost 3/4 of the book this weekend.

I am a huge reader...are you looking for funny, romantic, drama, etc?
Jennifer Weiner and Emily Giffin write pretty smart and funny chick lit.
The Philippa Gregory series is very romantic and interesting, but if you're not into history you might find it a little bit dry.
Let me know if you want any more recs
I just finished "Loose Girl" last night. It was a great book! It is very hard to keep my attention so when I find one I don't want to put down I get pretty excited.

I hope they serve beer in hell was great!
The Kiterunner
Thousand Splendid Suns
Glass Castle (has to be one of my fave of all time)
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (and the other 2 books in the series)
Hunger Games & sequel Catching Fire
If you're in to lighter reads that aren't of much substance but are still entertaining, I like Meg Cabot (Boy Next Door, Everybody's Got One, etc) and Jen Lancaster (Bitter is the New Black, Bright Lights Big Asss, Pretty in Plaid, Such a Pretty Fat)

I liked all of these. There are three books in the Hunger Games series although I did like the first two the best.
Some of my other favorites are:
The Count of Monte Cristo (it is my all time favorite book)
The Time Traveler's Wife
The Secret Life of Bees
I recently read Cutting for Stone. It is sad, but turned out to be very good.
I also really liked the Outlander series. However, they are longer books.
If you are looking for lighter reads, I enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse books, the Stephanie Plumb novels, the Women's Murder Club books and most novels by Nora Robers (especially her mystery and SciFi books).
Happy reading!
