Success after IF
Positive OPK is giving me the itch...
DH and I have changed our minds about how/when/if to TTC#2 about a hundred times over the past year. We stopped using protection last March but I wasn't ovulating anyway, so obviously no BFP. Then in December we realized that for financial reasons we can't have a baby until January 2012, so we needed to put TTC on hold until April or May.
I explained all this to my doctor during my physical on Friday, and she recommended that we go ahead with the referral to an RE now to get testing started, etc. So the referral has been sent. OMG. During my pap test, however, she commented that I had some very obvious EWCM going on. I swear I have it a couple times a month and it doesn't seem to mean anything. Nevertheless, I was dwelling on it and took an OPK that afternoon. Negative. Impulsively I took another one just now, and it's blazing positive!
The only other time I've seen a positive OPK is the cycle we conceived DS. Oh, man, it's going to be tough not to jump DH tonight. But, seriously, we're talking an extra $10k in our pockets if we can wait another two months to TTC. We can't afford to brush that off.
I am super extremely excited to see that I'm ovulating (although I won't really believe it unless/until AF shows up in about two weeks -- also, it's CD 33, which isn't great), but I'm also frustrated that it's happening NOW.

I'm kind of confused about the 10k thing..and don't feel like you need to explain either, but couldn't a long struggle with IF cost more than that? Wouldn't it be better to do it for "free"

If I have baby #2 after January 3, 2012, I'll qualify for maternity/parental leave benefits again. As for whether IF will cost more than that, the answer is no. We have agreed that we will try a few cycles femara with IUI and not go any further than that. Money's tight and we (well, mostly DH) aren't willing to go into debt.

I so badly want to just throw caution to the wind and GO for it, but cooler heads will prevail, since I made the mistake of telling DH about the + OPK. LOL
