Am I crazy to buy floor seats for Elmo Live??

They are $52 (plus $12 parking, $11 "fee" and....we'll be getting a hotel room since it is in Philly).  So for 3 of us, we're looking at a pretty spendy morning (and we're not even counting all the Philly Cheese Steaks DH will make us stop for while in town.

There are cheaper non-floor seats.  The arena is where Temple plays and will be set up to use only half of it.....do you think a 20 month old will need to be closer or could we sit further back and still have her be into it??

Re: Am I crazy to buy floor seats for Elmo Live??

  • We went to Disney live today and had floor seats. I hated them. It was freezing because we are basically on the ice (it was an arena) and DD had a hard time seeing because all seats are at the same level as opposed to sitting higher up in the arena, where each row is a bit higher than the one in front of you. We;ve sat in the cheaper seats before and they were just fine. We spent $52 a ticket too, got 3 slices of pizza, popcorn and all went for lunch afterwards, it was a very expensive day....but DD loved it, so that is all that matters.

I was kinda thinking the same things about the seats being on the same level ( not stadium).  It might be tough for G to see. If there are stadium seats available and they are cheaper, I would go that route.

  • For Jacob, I would go with the floor seats.  I know it sounds crazy expensive, but I just think it will be difficult for her to keep her attention when its so far away from her.

You're going to make the trip to Philly, huh?  I'm going to wait until it comes around here again.  You're a better mom than me!  :)

  • $52 isn't bad for floor seats, I think I paid that for YGG but my seats weren't floor seats they were front mezz at Radio City. Honestly though I think she will love it no matter where your seats are

  • when we went to yo gabba, we had floor seat and LOVED it...i really don't think they would have liked it NEARLY as much being far back, because they could see everything, and there were interactive stuff they got to enjoy (bubbles, balloons)...they were so freaking expensive, but to me it was worth it

  • OK, I pulled the trigger.  My cheap husband is having a coronary but he'll get over it.  I think she is going to love it.  She loves "Melmo".

Yay!!  Now any other Philly ladies interested in meeting up ??(We'll drive up on 3/12 and the show is 10:30 am 3/13 so we will probably leave after lunch and let G nap on the way home).

Is Skoorb still around these parts or do I have to page her on FB??

I am not in philly but in NJ and it isn't a bad ride. Depends on when you will be out. Skoorb and I discussed once about meeting up!
