We are going through the double stroller options, which involve us either selling our Bugaboo Frog and getting something like a City Select, or keeping the Frog and getting a less expensive double like the Sit-n-Stand. I've read some really good reviews on it and some really bad ones. The last thing I want to do is buy a Sit-n-Stand and then hate it so much that I end up going out and buying a nicer double in the end anyway.
We test drove it in Target today and it is plenty tall enough for both DH and me (which is important, as we're both tall and this is an issue with some strollers) and it seemed to both of us to steer very well (I did read some reviews that said it handles find until you put the kids in it!).
Anyone have one and have any thoughts to share on it?
TIA!
Re: anyone have a Sit-n-Stand Double?
The original Sit-n-Stand has the jump seat only, but the Sit-n-Stand Double does have two stroller seats. We definitely want one with two stroller seats ...I don't think Henry's ready for the jump seat only.
We have it. Both kids like it! I like it too. I have 2 doubles: the sit n stand double and a baby jogger city series classic.
We have a SnugRide car seat and it snaps in well in the back seat (seat all the way down and tray folded down. Clicks right in). Maya loves being up front to see all the world.
It steers pretty well. This is my mall stroller. I got it for a steal off of Craigslist. I would buy it again.
Do you find that the front seat reclines enough for the baby to sleep in it? This is one of the complaints I see in the reviews and this is a concern for me....with Henry being older, I need the baby to be able to be in a reclining seat so she can sleep on the go. We didn't do this much with Henry, but we'll have to with baby #2 or Henry will never be able to get out of the house!
LOOOOOVED our sit and stand!!
My recommendation is to check Craigslist.
Go cheap.
Then if you hate it you re-sell it and you're out very little cash.
We had a true double at 17 months apart and used it only a small hand full of times.
In the beginning I wore the baby and used the single to keep my hands free for the toddler.
Then when the baby got bigger and less comfy to wear a lot we used the sit and stand it it was the PERFECT solution.
With a true double I spent half of my time lifting the toddler in and out. The sit and stand was a great solution and got used MUCH longer than I think a true double would have.
GL!
