How much sleep are you getting?

I'm wondering if I'm sleeping more than most of you.  I'm so exhausted by the time I get home from work so I usually sleep for 10 hours.  On the weekends, it's more like 10-12.  That doesn't count being up at night after peeing though.

How about you?

Re: How much sleep are you getting?

  • Apart from the past few days, I have a hard time falling asleep at night. So I'll usually only get 7-8hrs of sleep. Because of this its hard NOT to fall asleep during the day. For example: My husband and I were just watching the bears/packers game and in the last 11min of the 4th quarter I passed out. lol.

  • I'm definitely competing with you for hours spent sleeping lately :)

I took a 3 hour nap yesterday & a 4 hour nap today - not to mention going to bed early every night :)

I work a LOT during the week so by the time I get home I'm exhausted & in bed by 8!

  • During the week I'm getting about 8.5 hours a night with one pee break every night. I'm also napping in the middle of the day for about 2-6 hours each week.  On the weekends I'm definitely getting close to 10.  I've never valued my sleep more then I do now.  And I have some of the most interesting vivid dreams.
  • On days when my DD has preschool I get about 9 hours of sleep, when we dont get up early for ps i sleep about an hour longer so, 10. Most afternoons I will catch a nap for about 1-2 hours. Thank goodness my DD is so forgiving of me.

  • I am a SAHW, so I don't set an alarm.  I wake up when my body tells me it's time to wake up.  So,  I usually get about 9-9.5 hrs of sleep a night.  Contrast that to the 7 hrs I used to get when I worked FT.  No wonder I was a grouch all the time!  :)
  • I'm making myself go to bed by 9-9:30p most nights, which means that i get a solid eight hours of sleep. I never used to get more than 6-7 hours/night, so that has made a HUGE difference. These days, however, i don't think i could get by on less than 8 hours.

  • During the week I get about 9.5 hours of sleep and nap for 60-90 minutes depending on how long the 3yo I watch sleeps. On the weekends it's more like 10-12 hours and if I wake up late enough I don't need to nap but I've been known to take 3-6 hour naps.

  • I've been getting 9 hours during the week and on the weekend. Except I'm able to take naps on the weekend, so it's probably a bit more.

  • About 9-9.5 hrs overall.  I don't take naps - ever, I sometimes want to, but if I am that tired I just go to bed at 7:30 which unfortunately makes me get up around 4:45-5:00 (iiick!).

During the week, I am up everyday at 5:15 and sadly it has been hard to sleep past 6:30 on the weekends because I am still going to bed early Friday and Saturday!

  • I COULD easily sleep for 10+, but unfortunately because of work, I'm lucky if I get 6 :-/ I am a zombie. And c-r-a-n-k-y. So you are probably doing the right/ safe thing (safe for DH that is).

  • After reading your responses I'm embarassed to reply.  I am a SAHM and so during the week I get up from 745-930 to get DD and DH off to school/work and then nap again until 1230-1 and then I go to bed by 8 at night.  So, about 15-16 hours a day/night.  I am supposed to go on vacation next week and am dreading how I'm going to function and not waste it away sleeping

Don't be embarrassed! You have to get your sleep in now while you can!

  • I will sleep 12 hrs on my own w/out any kind of alarm. Unfortunatley, starting tmw I have to start being back up atound 5:30, and on the go M-F all the time. The plan is to try to be in bed by 8:00, but who knows. I feel tired just thinking about it!

  • REALLY hard to say.

I'm having a very difficult time getting to sleep these days- even when I'm exhausted, and I'm tossing & turning a lot at night. Thankfully, I'm a SAHW, so I can sleep in late if I got no sleep & take naps (lately, going to bed around 4-5am and trying to sleep till 1 is common). I seem to do a lot better with naps for some reason- but only if I plan for it to be a short nap. All in all, I'd guess I'm getting around 9-10 hours, with 6-8 of those hours being very restless, uncomfortable sleep.

  • I'm getting about 9... sometimes 10.  I only teach half-days (12-3:30), so if I need a nap in the morning after dropping DS off at school, I have time for an hour or so.  I have felt really rested this pregnancy... half-time work and lots of sleep is really good for my stress level!
  • i get about 7. my time to do stuff and have "me" time is after DS goes to bed. it was a lot easier being pregnant last time around when i could sleep odd hours of the day when i wanted to, lol.

  • I am right with you, 10 hours during the week, 12 hours on the weekend. I thought that might be because I currently work 3rd shift; but I am glad to hear that other people are as tired as well.

  • A good 9 hours a night.

Im usually passed out by 9:30pm and up by 7am.

Weekends I sleep in and nap.

In fact, I could use a nap right now :)
