Babies: 6 - 9 Months

well if finally happened...

I always make a habit to strap Mr. D down when I change his diaper because the changing pad/area is on his low dresser... he is just too wiggly. Well today I bent down to get his pants out of the drawer and he rolled off and fell to the floor-- WITH the diaper pad attached to him! I don't know who was more scared me or him. After a bit of snuggles and a full inspection we are both ok. But now I am wondering am I going to have to nail that pad and him down to the dresser or what?!?!  Please let this over wiggle time be a phase!

  • How scary! That's why I never use the strap. I figured it wouldn't help DS stay on the table, but just send the pad over with him. I guess you'll just have to follow the rule of one hand on baby at all times.

  • that is scary!!

Can you attach the strap to the table instead?  Our strap is attached to the changing table not the pad--it came that way (and the table is anchored to the wall).   Regardless, glad your LO is alright!

  • Oh my! Once I read that he was okay, I did have to laugh a little. :) This is why DD's diaper changes happen more and more frequently on the floor!

  • Did your changing pad not come with an anchor?  Ours is nailed onto the changing table, it had a 3rd strap for that purpose.  Glad he's okay!!

  • Your pad doesn't have a little strap that can be attached to the dresser?   There are two little pieces of strap on the back of mine that allow me to nail it to the back of the dresser (so you don't ruin the top of the dresser).

  • Oh my!  Honestly, I'd stop using the changing table.  When they start to roll that much, I'd rather change them on the floor!
