Anyone knit?

I just recently took up knitting and it is hard! My co-worker is teaching me since she has been doing it her whole life. I heard crocheting was easier but I wanted to knit these cute baby hats I saw. I don't know how I am able to knit baby hats and not become super sad yet, but I've been fine and it hasn't bothered me.

I never thought I would be knitting since sorry to say, it seemed like something elderly ladies do. However, I actually enjoy it! It's just hard to learn!

I have been thinking of taking up knitting or crocheting. I love the idea of knitting little hats and booties for a future LO (you know, so they will stay warm in our harsh winters out here in CA Stick out tongue ).

Hoping someone who knits responds to this thread so I can learn more! Is crocheting easier? Maybe I'll try that instead.

I crochet. I have never learned to knit. I just finished a second baby blanket, and I've made a ton of booties. Now I just need my take home baby!

It freaked me out at first too. I was like, "how am I supposed to hold two needles AND work the yarn at the same time?!" After tons of practice though, it's getting easier.

I took three lessons with a friend and I was half way though my first scarf when I stopped bc she had some back surgery. I did not pick it up over Christmas so I totally forgot now...ugh. I think that pearling is what is giving me the most trouble. I need to get back to it before I lose it all.

I knit, I'm not great at it and it takes me a ridiculous amount of time but I did make cable knit scarves for my mom and myself, they are really gorgeous but it took up so much time I haven't tried anything else... and that was years ago that I made them. I'd love to learn to crochet, it seems much faster. The 2 needles isn't really that hard, but then again I eat with chopsticks for fun sometimes so I might be a bad gauge.
