I would give it some time. I have been doing the shred for almost a week now and I've gained a pound. It is discouraging but what would your alternative be? I think even if you aren't seeing immediate results you should keep up. I would be shocked if we went through the entire 30 Day Shred and didn't see some results.

ME TOO! I gained a pound in the first week and after 8 consecutive days, I've now skipped two days and am really struggling to stay motivated. I wish I'd taken my measurements before I started so I had something else to go by besides the scale. I'm hoping to continue and give it another week or two--maybe I'll put the scale away for that long--but after that, I'm gonna be ticked if I don't see some progress!
Muscle weighs more than fat, and muscle burns calories even when you're not doing anything.
Sorry the engineer in me has to correct this statement. Muscle is more DENSE than fat, which means that 1 lb of muscle takes up less space than 1 lb of fat.
But, 1lb of feathers = 1 lb of fat = 1 lb of muscle
Are you eating more? A lot of people start to eat more when they exercise (cuz DUH you are burning calories, so your body wants to replace them with some more- thus making you hungry). IF SO- then eat lean LEAN protein and veggies.
ALSO- check your pants and clothes- do they fit better? you could be gaining muscle mass- making you leaner in clothes but gaining on a scale.
THIRDLY- weigh yourself in the morning after a pee- before eating and dressing. that will be your most accurate weight. That will be without extra food in your stomach, water or clothes that can change your scales numbers.
Re: super discouraged..gaining weight on 30 day shred
Muscle weighs more than fat, and muscle burns calories even when you're not doing anything. Hang in there and it should catch up!
I haven't lost any weight but my clothes are getting looser.

Now, someone can correct my grammar!
