I have started training for a walk/run 1/2 marathon and once the weather improves a bit I want to be able to take my son out in a jogging stroller. Currently we have a huge bulky travel system stroller that is not very nice to run with.
I have seen the BOB Revolution in REI and it looks amazing but I would rather spend under $200.
What do you enjoy jogging with and would recommend to a new jogger? Also what should I avoid? Finally what is the deal with the hard core joggers having a fixed front wheel that puzzles me. Are they really intended to use in a straight line or do they go around corners more easily than they look like they will?
THX!
Re: Jogging Strollers
I have the BOB Ironman and LOVE IT! They are pricey but if you are a serious runner/walker, it may be worth it. The stationary front wheel does make turning corners challenging ( you do a little wheely each time) but it does keep the stroller going straight when running straight.
Look for a jogger with large wheels, not the small "city" wheels. I found Buy Buy Baby really helpful - tell them what you will use the stroller for and they can help you find the appropriate one.
I have a SCHWINN (got it from BRU with 20% off coupon) and i LOVE it. The wheel has capability to lock into stationary for long jogs or to swivel for walks and corners (I even shop with it)
So -for a cheaper alternative to a BOB- check out a SCHWINN.
