Hi! Popping in from 0-3 again.
Did any of you ladies have you c-sections because LO was breech? My DS was delivered 8 weeks ago via c-section due to breech positioning, and had pretty obvious "breech head" (positional scaphocephaly). At 8 weeks PP it looks much better, but his head is still long and narrow. I'm wondering how long it should take before his head is more of a normal shape (if it will ever be normal).
His 2 month check-up is next week, so I will be asking the pedi about it. Just curious to see what others' experiences were.
Re: breech head?
This was my experience, too. DS had a perfectly shaped head because he didn't get it molded to my pelvis. Vertex babies are the coneheads!
PS. OP, your baby's head looks fine in your siggy pic.
Thanks for your responses.
LO was breech for at least 10 weeks, with his head lodged under my ribcage. He had been in that position so long that my OB actually had a hard time dislodging LO's head (he was stuck for several minutes with the lower half of his body hanging out of me and his head wedged up high).
His head looks totally normal from the front. It's only when you look at him from above that you can see his head is a strange shape. It's shaped like a jellybean...long and narrow. I'm having trouble finding a picture of the top of his head to show you what I mean, but I found a picture online (not my baby, but his head looks very similar).
I'm curious if it has more to do with the shape of your uterus and that he was breech.

I don't know... I asked my OB after the section if there were any uterine abnormalities (I was curious because we had trouble TTC), and he said everything looked fine.
It's not really a big deal... LO is still super adorable, and his head IS starting to round out a bit. I was just curious if anyone else had a LO with a similar head shape.
Wow, that's a shape I've never seen! I don't think it's typical of breech babies in general, but yours sure must have been wedged in there. I have no idea what, if anything, you would do about it. I think my friends with "conehead" babies just let it resolve itself over time.
My son was breech as well - and his head was all up in my ribcage too - hahaha.. Ouch! The shape changed gradually but by about 3.5 - 4 months it became more rounded (not elongated in the back)
DS had both feet trapped behind his ears as well. When he came out, his ears were folded right over from the pressure of his feet resting on them. They looked like little puppy ears! He also had a big shelf on the back of his head, which is almost gone. It's nice to know my LO is not the only one with a wonky head!
