Right now, LO is in the middle because her carseat is so large it fits best there. I'm not sure where I should put the infant seat for LO #2. Doing a google search didn't help much. Anyone know what's safest or have links to info?
I really want one to stay in the middle since I'm sure I'll be sitting back there sometimes. Also, both will be rear-facing.

well I think it's personal preference and depends on your vehicle and carseat size/specs but I have heard conflicting things as far as safety goes. Some say that an infant seat should go on the side while putting a convertible in the middle because the infant seat has more overall "protection" than a convertible seat in the case of an accident... but others say the opposite because an infant is more "fragile" than a toddler??? I don't really know... but I have heard that if you have the option it's safer to put kids on the drivers side of the car because most collisions involve the passenger side of the vehicle.
Personally I'm putting the infant seat in the middle and the convertible on the drivers side because it's easier for me to lift my toddler a shorter distance rather than having to lift him into the middle of the truck because he's heavy!

The middle *is* statistically safer, but it's not always a realistic option for those with 2 kids, so the next best thing is to keep them RF. A toddler being RF on the side is safer than being FF in the center. RF infants and toddlers are equally as safe on the sides.
