Do you accidentally call DC 2, DC 1's name?

I just had a dream that I was in bed and pulled the new baby into bed to nurse and called her the nickname I call Rhayna....

Just curious if this is common - yes, its just a dream but makes me think.

Well I dont have DC2 yet but my parents call us by the wrong name all the time and I do the same to my cousins. Not because I dont remember who is who but the name just pops out.

I do think about nicknames and whether I will call DC2 any of the same nicknames that I use for DC1. For example, DS used to make a certain face when he was done nursing that was so cute and he had little milk dribble on his chin - I called it his milk face and then I started calling him milk face (not out in public or to other people, just like "Who's mommy's milk face?") So I wonder if DD will make the same milk face and whether I will say the same thing to her.

Yes it has happened a few times!

Sometimes it kinds blends together....Pres,Jo, Brady. LOL WHen I call the twins the wrong name I get ripped a new one!

now and then I do it - it's only natural.... my mom called us all each other's names (there were 4 of us) and also included the neighbor's kids and the dog's now and then

Yup, it has happened. And my mom used to call my sister and I the wrong name all of the time. The worst is when DH and I are having an argument and I will start to call him my sister's name - probably from all the years that we used to fight, it just comes out when I am getting angry!

I mix up my sister's name (Anna) and my daughter's name (Rhayna). I suppose its inevitable.

Heck, I only have one kid and I manage to call her the dogs' names and my sister's name.

I call Grant Smudge more often than I care to admit. In fairness, I call Smudge Grant frequently as well. So, while I don't have two children, I still mix up the toddler and the dog's names.

Yep and vise versa. Also, on occasion I mix the two with the cat, so I've used all 3 names interchangeably.
