Anyone go there for pre/post natal? Any good OBGYN recommendations there? curious what to expect on my first appointment (which is not until 3 weeks from now!)
I see Dr. Raffo there and had my son at Saddleback. It is a great office with in house ultrasounds and lab work which is great. Your first appointment is lots of paperwork, medical history, a pap if you are due, and they will set you up for blood work. That is pretty much it. You will get lots of information and get a feel of the office.
The hospital is great, very advanced and the care excellent. They have LC's that visit you everyday after delivery and they encourage the baby rooming in. The birthing suites are large and have cd/dvd players, a sleeping area/window seat with curtains for DH, and a jetted tub for you.

I second OCWMG. I recommend Dr Kaminskas, Dr. Mendlesohn, Dr. Sasaki, Dr. O'toole, or Dr. Raffo. Apparantley I get around... I have actually seen all of them at one time or another, and they were all nice and seemed capable. Mendlesohn is my doc, and I looooove her, but Sasaki delivered me, and she rocked as well. Good luck!
If you don't mind a male Dr. I recommend Dr. May. He is wonderful and funny and was the one who performed my C-section. He hung out with my DH while I was being prepped and stayed with him the whole time until they could enter the surgery room together. Apparently he was cracking jokes and trying to distract DH from worrying about me. He is a really stand-up guy.
I would switch to him as my primary care Dr. there but I have been seeing Dr. Raffo for years and wouldn't feel right about requesting the change.

I am delivering there at Saddleback and OCWMC is wonderful!
I see Dr. Han, she is really nice, well everyone there is really nice, I did get checked by De. Kaminska and Dr. O'Toole as well when Dr. Han was not on call when I went in for preterm contractions...
In house ultrasound is always nice, and if you need special ultrasound it's just one floor above them so they can get the results right away... and L&D is just down the hall way as well so if you get admitted your doctor can just run across the hall way and she or he will be there!
Since I already 3 trips to L&D with food poisoning and preterm labor contractions I got to meet many of the L&D nurses and I must say they are really nice too! so now when I go in for my check up I stop by the nurses station just to say hi and let them know on my stats!
I'm a little late but I love my OB Dr. Audell from ocwmg. She is super conservative with her decisions, which DH and I love. She takes the same super safe precautions with everything that we would.
Me: 35, elevated FSH 10.9, DH: 32, low morph & motility
After 2 years and 29 cycles, success au natural!
