Thats what I was thinking, but my LO is just now starting to get spicier/herby foods, so in a couple months.

  • Yes, if it had no pine nuts.

  • But, that whole PB thing has basically been changed, so that would mean the same for pine nuts right?  Are pine nuts even really nuts?  I don't know a soul who is allergic to them.

Pine nuts are a tree nut, so they are an allergen.  As far as the new rules; I'm not sure, but our pedi told us no nuts of any kind before he turns one.  I do know that different doctors have different feelings on this, though.

  • I have, DD loves it. The kind I bought does not have pine nuts in it. I think at this point even if it did I would give it to her. We have no family history of nut allergies.

This.  We have no food allergies in my family at all.  I'd feel differently if we did.

  • I just did today! I got a sandwich that was chicken, pesto, provolone, and sun-dried tomatoes. I gave him little bites of the bread/pesto and the cheese and he couldn't get enough!

  • I would (minus the pine nuts)
  • Yes. He's already had it. Forgot about the pine nuts, though. Whoops. I do know someone allergic to pine nuts.

  • I would.  I give my kid everything that's not a choking hazard/impossible to chew besides raw honey and cow's milk.  My pedi said after 6 months he could eat anything that I eat (within reason) and that the recommendation to delay allergen foods is outdated/

  • DD has had it and liked it. I don't give her more than a tiny bit though b/c things with parmesan are usually very high in sodium which is no good for babies.
  • I have just but it didn't have pine nuts.
