What to do with a 4 year old boy in the winter??

Now that it's winter I'm getting stuck on things for DS to do, especially that will burn off energy.  Seems like he comes home from preschool and plays wii or watches tv and all that does is end up with a rammy 4 year old.  What do you do with your kids in the winter to blow off steam and have fun?  I'm thinking Kehler's gym, the Camden aquarium, and we do have memberships at the Zoo and Please Touch Museum.

  • We have been hitting the Please Touch once a week.  We also love the aquarium (we have memberships to both).

This week I was thinking of going to the indoor part of Smith Playhouse, it just reopened after some renovations.  I was also thinking of trying Gymboree or the Little Gym, something that DS and DD can both do

I am so ready for spring

  • We go to open bounce at Bounce U and Jungle Wonder.   We also have a Y membership, which is my LIFE SAVER.  We go to the indoor pool, I have them run around and play with basketballs/soccer balls in one of the open gyms, I drop them off to play at the childwatch while I work out....we also do the Please Touch.  Sometimes we go to KOP mall and I just let them run, got to PM mall, let them run and ride the carousel and get lunch.....take a day trip to visit my parents, bundle them up and let them run around the block for 15-20 minutes, tons of arts and crafts....UGH, come on spring :)

  • Our library has a lot of fun activities.  We also do some mall walking, to correspond with the Borders story time.

Then we go for the cheap.  Chik-fil A and McDonald's have some great indoor play places (and wi-fi for mommies!).

  • Well, he is not 4 yet but we do:  Please touch, Plymouth meeting mall (always empty so running isn't a big deal, a carousel, fountain, escalator and Chick-fil-a), winter walks/sledding, the zoo, The little treehouse (four may be too old for this), Morris Arboretum (cool treehouse and train exhibits)....
