So DS has been having a tough time pooping. He does from time to time. He's not constipated, but he has a tough time going.
So I was holding him in a standing position (he loves it) and he was definitely trying to push. I was cheering him on, but after a while, I was like, why am I encouraging him to do this when I'll just have to clean up. And besides, maybe a new position would help.
I remembered my bros always had an easier time going while sitting, so I just tried to sit him on the potty. And it totally worked. He sat down and that position caused him to poop immediately. I AM SO SMART!!, I thought. Until I was like, wait, I'm wet, what the?
Yeah, my son poops and pees at the same time (I'm sure that's common, I just didn't think of it). And he peed all over me!
Gross. But I'm glad he doesn't have to strain anymore!
Re: Had a super smart mom moment and a super dumb mom moment within about 0.0001 seconds of one another
LOL! I'm glad he feels better though!
I'll have to remember that one when we start potty-training our Will! His twin sis is learning about the potty, but he's not showing any interest yet.
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
As a Mom of one who was pooping on the potty at 5/6 months I promise you that you will NOT make that mistake again.
In no time you'll have mastered holding him on the potty and pointing his penis down for him.
I think a potty topper may be in order for you guys! Makes it all so much easier.
And yes... you are SO SMART!!!
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
5/6 months! I'm very impressed!!
