Cloth Diapering

can someone fill me in on old/new KL?

What's the difference? I've seen some "old version" KL listed for sale and want to know if there was some major problem with them and that's why they put out a "new" version. Any insight would be appreciated - thanks!

  • I've never used them, but the difference I can see is the older version has the insert built in and the newer version has a snap-in insert.  I'm sure there are other differences though...

  • This is the info that is on the site that I order my diapers from...

New! Version 2.0 Kissa?s. The same diaper, now twice as absorbent!

The v2.0 Kissa?s now feature microfiber soakers instead of cotton terry. Since the soaker is hidden, you will not feel or see any difference in the soaker, except the marked increase in absorbency. The v2.0 have rainbow serging in the Size 1 and 2 diapers and light brown in Size 0, to help you differentiate the from the original.

Kissaluvs diapers are known for quality fabrics and terrific fit. Diaper fabrics are custom-made in the USA, including this wonderfully soft, absorbent, and durable cotton fleece.

  • So then the soakers are or are not hidden in the V2.0?

At least for the fitteds that's not true. I just got brand new KL0s and the soaker is still sewn in. This is what the website says:

Please see the picture I posted above.  I received this diaper last week from an online  store.  It has a snap-in insert.

  • Oooh...the one I have is an organic KL0 so it's different.  For reference, the organic KL0s have snap in inserts. Smile

  • So then the only visible difference on the non-organic is the thread color, right?

It sounds like the non-organic v2.0 KL0s  have brown surging as well.

  • Are you talking about KL0s?  In my experience, there isn't a difference.  They say there is, but I could never tell which was which.

And they switched what the insert is made of.

right, but you can't see the insert to tell that it's different.

Pixy - I read your review.  Wish I would have read it before buying a whole bunch of them!  They have worked for others though so I'm really hoping that they work for us too.

  • If you are talking about KLO's, the 2.0 version is a cotton inside, the 3.0 is micro.  We used and loved the 2,0's and would not switch to the 3.0's.  We like the more natural and micro can have stink issues.  The outer stiching tells you if it's a 2.0 or 3.0  HTH
