I had a missed miscarriage 12/6/10 and bled until around 12/23/10. I just had blood work taken 1/17/10 (just to check regular "stuff") and my hemoglobin/hematocrit came back slightly below the acceptable range. Could this be because of the miscarriage/hemorrhaging in December?
I tried to find some information on Google but it is so hard to pinpoint; just wondering if any of you had had this happen or heard of it being a possibility. TIA
Re: Hemoglobin and Miscarriage?
I am taking a multi with iron "for her". I don't know what it was before the m/c...maybe my doctor has that in an old record. It's 11.6 and should be 11.7-15.5 for "normal" so I know I am close. I *assume* with time and my vitamins that I should be fine.
Thank you
Your labs were low because you had an extended "period" per se.
Your body will recover from it, stay on the vitamins and just give it a few weeks.
Hugs for your loss.

My doctor didn't put me on anything extra. I actually only saw her 3 days after I took the cytotec to make sure that most everything had passed and I didn't need another round. She said I wouldn't need to see her again unless we got pregnant or or my annual, whichever comes first. I am going to call and ask.
I only got blood work because my PCP had ordered it months ago and I was waiting for insurance to change and that happened to be on there. None was taken at the time of my m/c.
Thank you. I usually have very light periods and I would have sworn I hemorrhaged more with my m/c than in my whole life combined so this makes sense now.
