I've done a good amount of research (Baby Bargains, reviews, etc.) on
baby gear and am happy with what's on our registries (1 on BRU and a
mostly-book one on Amazon). However, stuff keeps getting bought and I
think we need to add a bunch more things for the last minute pre-shower
shoppers (our shower is in 2 weeks), but I can't think of anything else
we really "need."
We're also borrowing a number of things (co-sleeper bassinet, bathtub, bundle-me for carseat) from a friend whose baby just turned 1, so those items don't need to be on the registry. I think I want to avoid registering for clothes (other than plain onesies & swaddle sacks) because we already have a bunch of outfits in various sizes, and I know people will buy plenty on their own for the shower and when he's first born.
I'm thinking we should add smaller toys for 0-12 months in particular, because I think they're usually reasonably priced and fun for people to give (all we have on there are 2 Lamaze carseat/stroller toys, a Soothe & Glow seahorse, and a FP foot-activated piano attachment for the crib, and a rattle). So I was wondering if anyone, particularly 2nd+ time moms, have any not-so-obvious, or more off-the-beaten-track suggestions?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Re: XP fr/3rd Tri: additional registry suggestions?
I wouldn't add too much that you don't need. It is amazing how much room baby stuff can take up!
You are going to get clothes regardless of whether they are on your registry, and you will probably get toys, too!
If there isn't a whole lot left, some folks will go to gift cards and you can use that when you do need stuff down the road!
Some things you may not have considered:
- Crib savers
- A diaper caddy
- A clothing hamper
- Humidifier
- Oral care gum scrubber
- Books
Check out this quick checklist:

Thanks, that's super handy and I bookmarked it for later as well!
I just added a couple things to make sure that I had enough options at each price range ..
~ oragel
~ itzbeen timer ( i'm really excited to try this out )
~ a second brand of diapers (we will see which kind works best for us)
~ dreft laundry detergent
those might work! if you don't already have a baby book, someone might really enjoy getting this for you.
