Now that the girls are down to 3 bottles a day, I have been giving them sippies of water in between them, usually with their snacks.
Do you guys offer water in sippies? How often? Where do they drink it? I have been letting mine sit in their Anywhere Chairs (i.e. roam the house) with their water sippies, because getting them in high chairs more than 3x a day is a PITA. I am thinking this probably isn't the best thing to do, though.
Re: water in sippies
I leave DS's water sippy out all the time and refill it as needed throughout the day. This could be a problem if your LOs drink so much that they don't want to eat, but otherwise I think it's fine.
He can drink it wherever he wants.
ETA: I can't believe your girls are almost a year old! They are just too cute, and you always have the BEST siggy pics.
Thanks! I can't believe it, either. I am having panic attacks just thinking about it.
So far, their water intake hasn't affected mealtime or bottles. But I am guessing they only get 8 oz of water a day, max. They still drink around 20 oz of formula and eat 3 meals + snacks a day.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
I give Henry a sippy of water after breakfast (he seems to drink a lot in the mornings) and at snack time and any other time he seems thirsty. I don't let him roam the house with it because he tends to turn it upside down and shake it out on the floor...what I usually do is offer it to him, let him drink and then I take it back and put it up on the cabinet out of his reach. He usually lets me know if he wants more.
I've always allowed water sippys around the house. Milk always has to stay in the kitchen. We had a gross milk incident where I gave her a milk sippy and she carried it around and left it in her play room and I didn't find it until days later when I smelled something funky!
She can have the water sippy as much as she asks for it. She'll usually ask once or twice a day and I fill it 1/4 - 1/2 full and see how she does that is usually enough to satisfy her. It has never been a problem with her appetite but she does fill her diaper with pee a lot faster.

Caroline only gets milk in a sippy at meals, and she has water in her sippy at all other times. She wonders the house with it, and drinks from it when she wants.
It hasn't been a problem, and she loves it!
Jacob gets a sippy with water in between meals (and milk with meals). He pretty much is drinking something all day long. He carries the sippy around the house. Drinks it in the car. All the time.
I don't think water is a problem as long as they're eating and drinking milk/formula.
This! M LOVES water and drinks it all day and with meals. She still drink 3 bottle of milk per day, along with snacks. I wouldnt worry about it effecting their nutrition unless it becomes a problem, and it doesnt sound like it is.
