Hi ladies...I am new to this board. Since November I have gone from the first trimester board to the m/c board to the TTCAL board -- I've even lurked a little on the adoption board. With my history I'm not exactly sure why it never occurred to me to peruse this board. :-/ My signature has the cliff notes version of my situation, but what it doesn't tell you is that I have PCOS. Although I have regular periods every 29-30 days, I do not ovulate without the assistance of Clomid. And this cycle my doctor has started me on progesterone for a suspected progesterone deficiency as well. My DH and I have decided that we are going to stay on the TTC rollercoaster until July when we are going to jump ship to surrogacy (a family member has offered)...that's where I was wondering you all might be able to help. I have done quite a bit of online research to the cost of IVF but I never seem to find prices and if I do they are ALL over the board. I was wondering if you might be able to share with me some candid answers on how much IVF costs? TIA and I look forward to getting to know you!
ETA: My insurance will not cover IVF.
Re: Intro
I am on day 7 of IVF cycle #1 and the major expenses so far have been: $6800CDN for IVF/ICSI and $2000CDN for meds (Bravelle (15 - 75IU vials), Repronex (10 - 75IU vials), and Orgalutran (5 needles - 250ug/0.5mL). I think I am at the low end of the range for meds though. When it comes to meds it really is an individual thing.
Other expenses you may want to consider: IVF consultation, semen trial wash, freezing of embryos, and frozen embryo transfer.
Fingers crossed you get a BFP before July!!
Welcome to the board and I'm sorry for your losses. Our clinic charges $7,500 for a fresh IVF cycle plus the cost of meds (b/w 2,000-4,000). We are also 100% OOP for IVF which is why we are pursuing other treatment options first.
Best of luck!
